Strawberry Dalgona (Whipped Coffee)

Dalgona (whipped coffee) has become a social media trend. While I enjoyed the classic version, I wanted to create my own version, a beautiful pink beverage with the famous whipped coffee on top.

Cuisine: American
Keyword: vegan, Vegetarian, Jain Friendly

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup strawberries washed and cut
  • 1 cup oat milk
  • 1 tsp sugar for the strawberries
  • 3-4 ice cubes
  • 1 tbsp instant coffee
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp hot water
  • 1 tsp edible rose petals optional
  • 1 strawberry for garnish optional

Instructions

  • First make dalgona (whipped coffee) by taking equal (1:1:1) measurements of instant coffee, sugar and hot water. Mix using a whisk or hand blender until it forms soft peaks and is caramel brown in color. Set aside.
  • In a Vitamix or blender, take strawberries, sugar and milk. Blend together.
  • In a glass, add some ice cubes and pour in strawberry milk.
  • Using a spoon, pour the dalgona (whipped coffee) on top. Adjust whipped coffee to your taste as it is very bitter.
  • Garnish with fresh strawberries or edible rose petals.

Notes

You can use any regular, almond, coconut or soy milk of your choice. I used Oatly oat milk.  Dalgona is empowering so adjust coffee to your taste. You can use an electric mixer, whisk, or hand blender to whip coffee. You can use frozen strawberries or strawberry syrup if you do not have fresh strawberries.
