This is an Ayurvedic inspired recipe using apples which are in season for the fall. You can also use pears too. I love the warming spices and great to have for breakfast.

Ingredients
1honey crisp applelarge
1/2cupwater
1tbspjaggery powder
1/2tspcinnamon powder
1/2tsp dry ginger powder
1 - 2cardamom pods
2 - 3cloves
2 - 3saffronstrands
Instructions
Wash, slice and peel one large apple.
In a saucepan, take water, jaggery powder, cinnamon powder, dry ginger powder, cardamom pod, cloves and saffron strands and let it boil.
Add in sliced apples and simmer for 10 minutes until fork tender.
