Samosa Pinwheels

This makes for a great Diwali appetizer. It's baked, easy to make and so flavorful.

Ingredients

  • 1 pastry puff sheet thawed
  • 3-4 small potatoes boiled
  • 1 jalapeño diced
  • 1/2 cup peas
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp amchur (dry mango) powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 1 tsp ginger grated
  • 1 tbsp butter melted
  • 1/4 cup coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp water for brushing

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Prepare puff pastry sheet according to package.
  • Using your hands or a potato masher, mash the boiled potatoes.
  • Add in peas, jalapeño, salt, ginger, all the spices mentioned, lime juice and coriander leaves.
  • Mix well and make sure it is at room temperature.
  • Roll the puff pasty into a rectangle.
  • Spread the spiced potato filling in a thin layer and leaving room at the edges.
  • Brush one end of the sheet with water.
  • With the side that does not have water, begin rolling into a long log.
  • Using a sharp knife, cut into 1 inch round pieces.
  • Brush each pinwheel with melted butter.
  • Lay them in a baking tray and bake for 20 - 25 minutes until golden brown.
