Raw Banana Parathas with Cucumber Mint Raita
This is a Jain recipe that makes for a great meal. Enjoy with mango pickle too.

Cucumber Mint Raita
- 2 cups dahi whole milk
- 10 mint leaves finely chopped
- 1 cucumber peeled and shredded
- 1 tsp salt
Dough for Paratha
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 cup water as needed
Filling for Paratha
- 4 raw bananas (plantains) steamed and peeled
- 1 tsp salt to taste
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp amchur (dry mango) powder
- 1 tsp chaat masala
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
Raw Banana Paratha
Make sure to steam raw bananas in the IP or pressure cooker. Once cooled, peel and grate. Set aside.
Add all the spices and seasoning as mentioned to the grated raw banana.
Mix well and form them in rounds. Set aside.
Knead dough, cut into pieces and use your palms to shape them.
Roll out the paratha dough into 3 inch circle and add the filling in the middle.
Carefully close the paratha without the filling oozing out.
Gently roll out the paratha.
Using oil, pan fry the parathas on both sides until golden brown.
Enjoy with raita.
