NY Style Bagel with Jalapeño Cream Cheese

I love New York bagels. This is a simple and easy way to make NY style bagels at home along with my favorite type of cream cheese.

Ingredients

Jalapeño Cream Cheese

  • 1 jalapeño diced
  • 8 oz cream cheese

New York Style Bagel

  • 1 pizza dough
  • 1 tsp everything but the Bagel Seasoning optional
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

Jalapeño Cream Cheese

  • Stir in diced jalapeños to softened cream cheese.
  • Store in airtight container in the refrigerator.

New York Style Bagel

  • Let the pizza dough rest for 20 minutes.
  • Preheat oven at 450° F.
  • Make a few dough balls. Punch your thumb at the center of each dough ball and stretch it until you get a bagel shape.
  • Boil water on medium heat. Add in salt.
  • Add in two bagels at a time. Boil each side for a minute.
  • After 2 minutes, remove the bagels with a spatula.
  • Grease a baking pan with oil.
  • Line up the bagels on a greased pan and sprinkle everything but the bagel seasoning or keep it plain.
  • Bake in oven for 15 minutes until golden brown.
  • Slice bagel in half and spread jalapeño cream cheese.

Notes

I used Philadelphia original cream cheese. I also used Trader Joe's pizza dough which is vegan. I also used Trader Joe's everything but the bagel seasoning. Best served when warm.
