Shrikhand is a popular Gujarati sweet yogurt dish served with puri (puffed bread). I created a version using different types of tropical fruits. In addition, this method with greek yogurt is much more efficient vs. the traditional method.
Course: Dessert
Cuisine: Indian
Keyword: Vegetarian, Jain Friendly
Ingredients
1cupgreek yogurt
1/4cuppowdered sugar
1tsp cardamom ground
1 1/2cupsmixed fruit (cherry, pineapple, mango, strawberry, red grape)chopped
Instructions
In a bowl, whisk yogurt with ground cardamom and powdered sugar.
Add in chopped fruits. Mix well.
Refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours.
Garnish with remaining chopped fruits.
Notes
Traditionally, shrikhand is made with strained hung curd which is quite the process. Using greek yogurt is much more efficient. There are so many variations of shrikhand and you can add other toppings of your choice.
