Masala Beans On Toast
This is a British recipe using Heinz beans in tomato sauce, most enjoyed for breakfast or lunch. Added my own twist with Indian spices for flavor.

- 14 oz Heinz beans with tomato sauce can
- 1 tbsp ghee
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp asafetida
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cumin coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp cilantro chopped
- 1 tbsp green chilies diced
- sourdough bread slices
- butter for toast
In a saucepan on medium heat, add in ghee.
Once ghee is melted, add in asafetida and cumin seeds. Let it temper.
Add in green chilies.
Add in can of Heinz beans in tomato sauce.
Add seasonings and spices. Give it a mix.
Turn off heat. Add in fresh cilantro.
Toast sourdough bread with butter. Add bean mixture on top of your toasted bread. Enjoy.
