Homemade Strawberry Jam

This is a 3 ingredient jam that goes great on sandwiches, crackers, cookie filling or even ice cream. You will never want to buy store bought jam after making this.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound strawberries fresh
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice fresh
  • 1/2 tsp lemon zest optional

Instructions

  • Wash and slice strawberries, removing hulls and green stems.
  • Using a saucepan, add sliced strawberries and sugar.
  • Cook until mixture reaches a full boil.
  • Add in lemon juice and lemon zest. Stir well.
  • Use potato masher to mash strawberries. Continue stirring.
  • Turn off stove and pour in mason jar.
  • Let it cool completely before covering mason jar.
  • Store in refrigerator.

Notes

This jam stays fresh in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. No pectin required.
