Creamy Rigatoni Pasta

This is a yummy pink sauce pasta made with arrabbiata sauce and heavy whipping cream. It is a comforting pasta dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound rigatoni pasta
  • 24 oz arrabbiata sauce
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup reserved pasta water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil extra virgin
  • 1 onion diced
  • 1 tsp red crushed pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp sea salt

Instructions

  • Boil pasta according to package instruction.
  • When you drain out the pasta, make sure to reserve pasta water.
  • Using a saucepan on medium heat, sauté onions in olive oil until translucent.
  • Add in all spices and seasonings as mentioned. Stir well.
  • Add in arrabbiata sauce. Mix well.
  • Add in cooked pasta. Mix well.
  • Add in reserved pasta water. Mix well.
  • Add in heavy whipping cream. Mix well.
  • Cover saucepan and let it simmer on low heat for a few minutes.
  • The pasta should have a creamy consistency.
  • Turn off heat and serve warm.

Notes

You can use any pasta shape you want but I love making this with rigatoni. You can also use any brand of store bought arrabbiata sauce. You can also use my Pomodoro sauce recipe on the blog (under Rigatoni Pomodoro with Burrata)
