Samosa Pinwheels
This makes for a great Diwali appetizer. It's baked, easy to make and so flavorful.
Ingredients
- 1 pastry puff sheet thawed
- 3-4 small potatoes boiled
- 1 jalapeño diced
- 1/2 cup peas
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp amchur (dry mango) powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp salt to taste
- 1 tsp ginger grated
- 1 tbsp butter melted
- 1/4 cup coriander leaves
- 1 tbsp water for brushing
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Prepare puff pastry sheet according to package.
- Using your hands or a potato masher, mash the boiled potatoes.
- Add in peas, jalapeño, salt, ginger, all the spices mentioned, lime juice and coriander leaves.
- Mix well and make sure it is at room temperature.
- Roll the puff pasty into a rectangle.
- Spread the spiced potato filling in a thin layer and leaving room at the edges.
- Brush one end of the sheet with water.
- With the side that does not have water, begin rolling into a long log.
- Using a sharp knife, cut into 1 inch round pieces.
- Brush each pinwheel with melted butter.
- Lay them in a baking tray and bake for 20 – 25 minutes until golden brown.
