Homemade Strawberry Jam
This is a 3 ingredient jam that goes great on sandwiches, crackers, cookie filling or even ice cream. You will never want to buy store bought jam after making this.
Ingredients
- 1 pound strawberries fresh
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp lemon juice fresh
- 1/2 tsp lemon zest optional
Instructions
- Wash and slice strawberries, removing hulls and green stems.
- Using a saucepan, add sliced strawberries and sugar.
- Cook until mixture reaches a full boil.
- Add in lemon juice and lemon zest. Stir well.
- Use potato masher to mash strawberries. Continue stirring.
- Turn off stove and pour in mason jar.
- Let it cool completely before covering mason jar.
- Store in refrigerator.
Notes
This jam stays fresh in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. No pectin required.
