Basil Salt
I love growing basil in my garden every summer. While I love using it for homemade pesto, I wanted to make my own gourmet flavored sea salt. It turned out amazing and so easy to make. I love sprinkling this on pizzas, pastas, roasted veggies, fresh tomatoes – the possibilities are endless.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sea salt
- 1 cup basil fresh
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 220℉.
- Wash and pat dry fresh basil leaves.
- In a food processor or grinder, add basil and sea salt. Give it a mix.
- On a baking sheet, place parchment paper then spread basil salt mixture.
- Bake for 25 minutes. Our goal is to dry the basil not cook it.
- Once basil salt is dry, place it back in clean and dry food processor or grinder; give it a quick pulse.
- Store in a clean spice jar.
Notes
For this recipe you can use Maldon Sea Salt, Fleur De Sel, or Himalayan Salt.
