Cereal Chevdo
This cereal chevdo brings an umami of flavors together. It is savory, sweet and spicy. It is a great snack to have while on a road trip with some tea or coffee. This recipe is Jain friendly.
Ingredients
- 4 cups cornflakes
- 2 cups fruity pebbles
- 1 tbsp dalia (chana dal)
- 1/2 cup cashews roasted and salted
- 1/4 cup peanuts
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 3 tbsp oil
- 10 curry leaves
- salt to taste
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp asafetida
Instructions
- Using a non-stick deep pan, heat oil.
- Once oil is ready, add in asafetida, dalia, peanuts and curry leaves. Stir well.
- Add in cashews, raisins, salt and spices. Stir well.
- Add in your cereals. Continue stirring well.
- Roast cereal chevdo on low heat.
- After it is well coated and roasted, turn off heat.
- Store in airtight container.
Notes
You can use any cereals you have on hand. I love the combination of Corn Flakes and Fruity Pebbles along with spices. This recipe is Jain friendly.
