Chilli Paneer Pinwheels
This is a great appetizer for any holiday party. This recipe is Jain friendly and delicious.
Ingredients
- 1 package paneer crumbled
- 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
- 1/2 cup red, yellow, or orange bell peppers diced
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sambal oelek ground chili paste
- 1 serrano pepper diced
- 1 tsp ginger grated
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup cilantro chopped
- 1 tbsp oil for brushing
Instructions
- Thaw puff pastry sheet according to package.
- If you have fresh paneer block, make sure to crumble it with your hands or in a mixer.
- In a mixing bowl, add crumbled paneer, bell peppers, salt, sambal oelek, serrano pepper, ginger, soy sauce, and spices as mentioned. Mix well.
- Once the puff pastry sheet is cold and thawed, roll it in a rectangular shape.
- Add in the chili paneer mixture evenly on the sheet.
- Gently roll puff pastry sheet in a log shape and seal ends.
- Using a sharp knife, cut into one inch pieces.
- Preheat the oven at 350°F.
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Brush oil using a pastry brush on each pinwheel.
- Bake in oven for 20 minutes until golden brown.
- Enjoy warm.
Notes
I used Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry Sheets (found in the refrigerated aisle). Sambal Oelek is red chili paste (no onion, no garlic) can be found in Indian grocery store.
