Bajri Na Vada
This is my mom's recipe that she makes for Paryushan. It is great to have with tea or yogurt.
Ingredients
- 1 cup bajra flour
- 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup curd
- 1 tsp achaar masala
- 2 tsp sesame seeds
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 2 tbsp oil
- salt to taste
- oil for frying
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, add the flour, all the spices, curd and oil.
- Knead the dough. It should be semi-soft.
- Take dough and divide into small balls. Set aside.
- Using your palms, gently press the dough balls.
- Heat oil in deep frying pan.
- Once oil is hot, add in the vada to deep fry.
- It should be golden brown on both sides. Transfer to a dish lined with paper towel, which helps absorb the access oil.
- Once cool, store in airtight container.
