Eggless Gulab Jamun Mousse

Gulab Jamun is one of my favorite Indian sweets. It is a fried dough ball made in sugary rose syrup. This is an easy and delicious dessert recipe using 3 main ingredients. Make this for your Diwali event or any festive occasion.
Course: Dessert
Cuisine: Indian
Keyword: Vegetarian, Jain Friendly
Servings: 4 people

Ingredients

  • 1 box gulab jamun store bought
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tsp cardamom ground
  • 1 tbsp pistachios crushed
  • 1 tbsp dried rose petals

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy whipping cream, cardamom powder and a spoonful of rose syrup from the gulab jamun box.
  • Mix until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
  • For each serving, cut 3 gulab jamun into quarters. Set aside.
  • In a glass, place a few pieces of gulab jamun, then layer with whipped cream. Repeat until all 3 gulab jamuns are placed.
  • Garnish with chopped pistachios and dried rose petals.
  • Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

I I recommend keeping the whisk and mixing bowl in the refrigerator at least 1 hour before making this. Make sure the heavy whipping cream is cold.
