Holiday Pastry Stars
This recipe is great for the holidays. I used fig cardamom jam to fill my star shaped pastries. You can use any jams you like.
Ingredients
- 1 package pastry sheets thawed
- 3 tbsp jam of your choice
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar for garnish
- 1 tbsp melted butter to brush
- 1 tbsp water to help seal
Instructions
- Thaw pastry sheets according to package instructions.
- When pastry sheets are thawed, roll them out into a rectangle.
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Use a star shaped cookie cutter to cut pastry sheet into stars.
- Then use a small round cookie cutter to make a hole in the middle of half of the star shaped sheets.
- Place a dollop of jam in the middle of each star.
- Brush each star edge slightly with water.
- Then use the cutout star and place over the jam star.
- Brush melted butter over the star.
- Bake in oven for 20 minutes until stars are puffed and golden brown.
- Let pastry puffs cool for a few minutes.
- Sprinkle powdered sugar over it and serve.
Notes
I used Fig Cardamom jam from Bonne Maman.
